Some background experiments, bottom left and bottom right work the best I think.

“Forever” (2009)
This is an artwork that I made for the “One Endless Dream” Cure Tribute book in 2009/10.It’s one of my first watercolour paintings and an illustration for the Cure song “Forever” (aka “All Mine”/”All I Have To Do Is Kill Her”). For everyone that is not familiar with The Cure (I don’t know how that is possible, but well …):This song can’t be found on any Cure album cause it was never recorded in a studio and is only played live (since 1980).The special thing is that it is always improvised when played live so that every live version is unique, musically but also the lyrics are always different.
For my artwork I wrote by hand the lyrics to 3 different versions of this song in different colours and fonts on my watercolour painting: The river has the lyrics of “All I have to do is kill her” from 1982 Paris, the land has some of the lyrics of “All Mine” from 1982 London and the sky has the lyrics of “Forever” from 1992 Lievin.

The City by Fernand Leger, 1919. Leger has captured the busyness of a city by combining bold shapes and forms to emulate signs, streets, buildings and traffic. His ‘tubist’ style can be seen in the cylindrical shapes throughout.
